If anyone knows who is missing two peahens, please contact me (Chris Thornton) on 07773 334557.
They arrived in Salford on Tuesday and seem to like it here. They're quite elegant and I enjoyed watching them until they got stuck into my lovingly grown lettuces.
They're pretty agile and canny, too: we had a go at catching them, but they hopped and flew up onto the roof. They keep popping back down for another assault on the salad.
We couldn't find a contact for the RSPCA. We did call the RSPB who said, "We don't do bird rescue. Someone must own them. You need to find out who owns them." OK, so, hello owners, please come and get 'em!
Someone this morning helpfully suggested that Oxtail & Trotter might like them. A cursory search of t'internet tells me they taste a bit like turkey.
Thanks and kind regards,
Chris
