Jean Stainthorpe writes: "After forty days and forty nights in the wilderness, Hatherton residents have re-entered the 21st century when their faulty phones burst into life.
"Households which have been without voice and broadband for five weeks and five days appear now to have a fully restored service.
"Many thanks to those friends and local establishments who have provided wifi access."
AudlemOnline adds: Following combined requests from Edward Timpson MP, Cllr Janet Clowes and the CEC Connecting Cheshire Team, BT arrived yesterday, Tuesday, to repair the damaged ducting and install new cables to 14 Hatherton households who have been without landline telephone and internet services since early December.
Late Tuesday evening saw all households reconnected and their services restored.
Jean Stainthorpe added: "My phone, voice and internet are now back on, it's such a relief to be back in the 21st century!"
Neighbour Carrie de Silva emailed the following message to her local councillor Janet Clowes: "Everything is now back on – please convey our thanks to everyone who made this happen".
