The editorial and support team at AudlemOnline would like to wish all our readers near and far a very a Happy New Year as we enter a new decade. Whilst we are a local village community website dedicated to providing news of activities and support for our local traders, we also recognise from the feedback we get that the website is read across several continents.

Nationally 2019 has been a divisive year as the debate on Brexit proceeded, but we at AudlemOnline tried to ensure that we did not cause further division within our community by maintaining a neutral position. Hopefully as we move on in 2020 these divisions may be healed.

The community spirit within Audlem was typified by this Chatbox entry we received from Ian Jones of Hankelow fame :

What a pleasure it was to be in the village last night.( New Years Eve) We had a great meal at the Lord Combermere, waited on by Alan and Jo and their excellent staff.
We then went out on to the Square to the sound of the bells and to watch an incredible firework display. The New year was welcomed in by a huge crowd of well-wishers and the atmosphere was a joy to behold. Audlem Square really was the place to be. A big thank you to everyone in the village who makes Audlem a special place. Happy New Year everyone."

Thank you Ian

As we move into the first quarter of 2020 a new version of AudlemOnline will be launched. We hope you will like it but either way we are sure you will let us know.
Two items which are not yet finalised are Chatbox and Buy and Sell and so if you have views on any changes that should be made to these sections do let us know. One key question for Chatbox for example is whether we should maintain the use of pseudonyms or ask people to use their real names. What do you think ? Tell us via Chatbox or email editor@audlem.org
