Half-Term Scarecrow Festival at Tatton Park

editor's note:- out of our area but might attract a family outing during half-term!

This year's Scarecrow Festival will showcase a right royal mix of famous faces and colourful characters – all made from straw! Inspired by the King's forthcoming coronation on May 6, teams at Tatton Park have come up with the regal creations to delight visitors over half term holidays. Head to Tatton Park's Gardens and Farm to see if you can spot the straw royalty!

Famous royals with a twist!

The Scarecrow Festival runs throughout half term from Saturday 11 to Sunday 26 February. (Closed Monday's) Spot your favourite Kings and Queens in amongst the backdrop of the winter Gardens and amongst farmyard friends down at the Farm. Sat in amongst the tropical fernery you'll spot 'Queen of the Jungle' scarecrow, Jill Scott. Look out for King Charles and the nations favourite royal bear, as well as The Lion King at the Farm.

Family fun this half term Join the celebrations

Tatton Park's education team, along with garden and farm volunteers have worked hard to build over 50 scarecrows from scratch this year – which is no mean feat! The annual scarecrow festival recycles straw and clothing from the previous year, but sadly last year's scarecrows were ruined by a double whammy of severe storms including Storm Eunice and Storm Dudley.

Simon Tetlow, Head Gardener explains "It's been a real team effort this year to bring these royal characters to life. Starting again was a daunting task but we know that the annual scarecrow festival is a big hit for families at half term. It's a chance to get the kids outdoors, for some fresh air and fun."
