Gritters fast answer to estate call

As we are quick to criticise, it's good to be able to report that Cheshire County Council's highways department's response to a phone call yesterday has attracted praise.

Bill Consterdine reports that he called the Crewe office on behalf of Audlem Parish Council to ask if the Highways could do something about the icy slopes on some of the village's estate roads. Within ninety minutes, a team was out gritting those slopes that were causing problems and topping up the grit bins around the village.
