Collection before end of week?

Thankyou for responses which have been passed on to Rachel Bailey
The following have been reported:-

  • Heathfield Road
  • Monks Lane
  • Woore Road
  • All Hankelow
  • All Buerton
  • Kettle Lane
  • Bagley Lane

It appears that central Audlem was collected, but little if any else.

This editor did manage to file a report the day after – it seems that you cannot file one on the pick-up day, and cannot leave a message about a whole street or find an explanation.

The standard response is that they will pick-up within 5 days.

Rachel Bailey will be asking questions at Thursday's Audit and Governance Committee regarding the ability of the council to honour garden and food waste collections during the 80 week road closure of the A530 at the recycling site at Leighton.

Rachel is clear that the 'waste collection teams go over and above to deliver a excellent service' – they are committed to try and get the job done in spite of issues like road closures which can impact and are outside of their control.

AOL and many locals will support this view.

It is the lack of information that this editor criticises. It cannot be beyond CE to have a bulletin board for such issues. And it would save everyone's time and effort using their reporting system!

I should report that one person did manage to get through to a real person who explained the problem!

It is believed that the reasons for this are:- Covid, lack of HGV drivers, and amazingly, unexpected delays on reaching the tip/processing centre because of the 80 week closure of the Middlewich road. And possibly a lorry breakdown! (All yet to be confirmed formally!)

Dear Cllr Bailey,
Just to keep you updated on progress so you can advise any residents with queries, unfortunately we were unable to get back to the area today, we have it planned for tomorrow.

One of the Team Leaders is scheduled to drive the vehicle with one of the normal crew members who has good knowledge of the area assisting him, hopefully we can get all the collections completed.

I have passed on the areas you have highlighted.

Thank you for your help in keeping residents informed, it is appreciated.

Anna Marie Lindsley (Cheshire East)
