Green Lane near miss

Just an update on a post I ...er...posted, a while back regarding me "predicting a riot, or rather, an accident". Don't worry, it's not happened....YET! But, I've just seen something that made me question the sense, or lack of it, of some drivers.

This morning, Friday, 3rd of July, at about 11.50am, I've just witnessed someone overtake two vehicles (going along the A529, past my house in Green Lane, towards Swanbach). That, in itself, isn't too unusual because it's always happening here, BUT, this person overtook the other vehicles ON THE BEND!!

CrazyAbout 30 seconds later, a lorry came hurtling down the bank (towards the village). 30 seconds earlier, it would have been total carnage, because none of them were exactly taking their time. I mean, I've done some crazy thing's in my time, and probably will continue to do so, but, there's crazy and there's CRAZY!

And, as if that wasn't bad enough, it's raining!

I'm not writing this in the hope of anybody doing anything about it because, what can they do? Double white lines? Speed limit? A sign that says: "If you're thinking of overtaking here, please don't coz it's a bend and, you never know, something may be coming round it in the opposite direction and there's a chance you may collide with it."

I know the last suggestion is a bit sarcastic but I'm sure you see what I'm getting at. No matter what's done, it won't stop a certain element driving exactly how they want, where they want. I pity the innocent people travelling in the other direction. Rant over. Now, where's me Horlicks...........BillyG
