Audlem Parish Council received a letter from Michael Jones, Leader of Cheshire East Council (CEC).

In it he confirmed that Audlem was one of a group of nine front runners who will receive support from CEC in preparing their neighbourhood plans. The others in the group are: Adlington, Astbury and Moreton, Brereton, Bunbury, High Leigh, MIddlewich, Sandbach and Stapeley and District.

This is great news for Audlem as it means that we will receive practical aid from CEC's Planning Department and help and advice on producing our neighbourhood plan.

Cllr Michael Jones is very enthusiastic about this venture, ending his letter by stating: "Thank you once again to all those who have engaged with this exciting agenda. I really look forward to supporting you all as we plan for the future of our communities in Cheshire East."

Chairman of Audlem Parish Council, Heather Jones, on hearing the news said: "I am delighted to hear that we are to be involved in the "Fast Track" group of councils writing their Neighbourhood Plans.

"It's what the people of Audlem said they wanted. Now we will receive support from professional planners too, so it is even more important that we sign up as many willing volunteers from the village as we can to help carry this process through."
