Golf club gets 9 hole go-ahead

(The website link that was here no longer works) Brookfield Golf Club in Hankelow has been given the go-ahead for its nine-hole golf course and driving range in addition to its existing 18 hole course despite a number of local objections. Councillors approved the plans after being told no floodlighting was proposed and measures would be taken to protect badgers and bats during construction. A Council spokesman said: "Proposals for outdoor recreation such as this retain the open character of the countryside."
