On Thursday we had 20 adult visitors, who came to Audlem to enjoy a trip on The Audlem Lass, have a look around the village, and enjoy a meal at The Lord Combermere as part of an exchange arrangement with Crewe & Nantwich.

The first party on The Audlem Lass arrived at 2pm, just as the sun came through after a wet morning. They were taken up to Overwater Marina where they enjoyed a trip around the Islands there, then onto the Shropshire Union Canal again for a longer trip on the water towards Hack Green and return.

The second party came on board at 3pm and had a similar trip but with the added bonus of seeing The Saturn Fly-boat, the only horse drawn Fly-boat left in the World. This had arrived for the 'boat gathering' this weekend and the operators were delighted to be able to show our visitors around the boat and explain its role in times past.

Our visitors were very impressed with our village, its surroundings and amenities.
