Garden Party in July

The Garden Party: July 19th at Buerton House, Buerton.

This now very popular event is one of the highlights of our programme as Friends of Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust – working to better the lives of seriously ill children and their parents and family.

Since we formed our small group, I am delighted to say that we raised over £20,000 for this so noble cause.

The Garden Party, held at Ralph's house and gardens, is a very happy affair, with a great Pimms and Strawberry Stall with Monique Hollinshead – she of Iron Man Fame – acting as host to all who enjoy this libation on a sunny day.

We will have freshly made scones, and teas and coffees and Ploughman's lunches; many stalls; super raffle; Tombola; Beat the Goalie; Coconut Shy; Bat the Rat!; toys, jewellery; cup cakes etc., etc. Also:

• WI stall
• RNLI stall
• Music by Back Row and by John Hardy and friends
• Gorgeous Irish Dancing by really talented dancers.

All in all , a great day for a great cause, with the buzzing of the bees, the glorious Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies, the blooms of Albertine climbing roses, the long hanging yellow streams of laburnum flowers – and all on a Summers day.
