Friday 13th – here we go!

AudlemOnline new version

The AudlemOnline webteam have decided to brave the superstitions and we have nominated Friday 13th March as the changeover day to the long-promised new AoL system.

ThenMedia, the Audlem/Hankelow based company whose technology is behind AudlemOnline, are upgrading all the websites that they support, primarily to make them more flexible to deal with the problems which arise when websites can be displayed on laptops, desktops, Ipads, phones etc.

While we will try to make the changeover a seamless as possible, there will inevitably be some hiccups in the operation and we may even have to "freeze" the website completely for a day or two. Our intention is to make sure, as a minimum, that all the current buy/sell items and recent news items are transferred to the new system.

The design and layout of the screen presentation will change along the way, and all our loyal readers and contributors will of course take one look and decide that they preferred the old layouts. All we ask is that you bear with us for a week or two until we (and you) get familiar with the new presentation and then let us know what you think.

As part of all this we hope to improve the mechanisms of the buy/sell feature (which has proved to be one of the outstanding successes of AudlemOnline) and also to make the wealth of information about businesses and activities in Audlem and the surrounding area more easily accessible.

We will, of course, be maintaining our impeccable standards of 24/7 news reporting from the AoL team of dedicated reporters and feature writers.
