Cheshire Fire Service is providing fire safety checks and free smoke alarms to local homes. Cards are being dropped through letterboxes in advance so there's no cold calling and the fire officers arrive in a marked vehicle, are in uniform and carry identification.

If you don't receive a card, or would like to apply for a visit, call Jenny at Crewe Fire Safety on 01270 254907. The service is very comprehensive with existing smoke alarms tested, new ones fitted free if needed and a full explanation of sensible precautions to avoid fires and advice on what to do in the event of a fire.

The Audlem Fire Station is also recruiting for retained firefighters and for fire cadets. Either speak to Jenny at the above number or enquire at Audlem Fire Station.
