The football field saga

The saga of the punitive charges for the village football team to use the village playing field continues. I am advised that we will be charged a total of £404.35 to play on the field next season.

And this after the CE council having failed miserably to repair the pitch over the summer. The "work" they did at each end of the area was, if it was not so serious, totally derisory. As all of you will know, all other users of this prime village amenity use it well and for free. Witness the huge wonderful Party on the Park event last Saturday. Witness Carnival Day. Witness the young Audlem Saints Footballers. When Oh when will this matter be resolved so that Audlem will own its only big amenity.

How I wish we were as Buerton or Hankelow and masters of our own destiny. And not face having to pay out hard earned money just to use that which is ours anyway.

Please, Parish Council, get active for the good of this marvellous village amenity and take it from Cheshire East. Time drags on and it is like ploughing through mud!!
