Flower Divas training success

During the Flower Divas shop's closure last week, customers will remember we were involved in Oxley’s Bereavement training programme.

This is a comprehensive training programme for Student nurses from Chester University, explaining the roles of different groups of people in the bereavement process including Hospitals and Care Homes, Pathologists, Registrars as well as Funeral directors and the Crematorium. 

We were asked to take part in explaining the significance and history behind funeral flowers and floral tributes, as well as our role in helping families convey their emotions and love through floral designs.

We are pleased to say that the training was a great success and the nurses all agreed that there was much more involved in the planning, designing and construction of Floral Funeral tributes than they had imagined. 

The session with us in the shop was also a welcome distraction after their morning working behind the scenes at the crematorium. 

Following the success of the afternoon in the shop we are hoping to be involved in more courses of this nature in the future.
