Residents of the UK were left rubbing their eyes this morning after reports emerged that Ronald Tramp had announced plans to “acquire” the small island at Overwater Marina and transform it into a combined luxury golf resort and military base.
Speaking via a hastily arranged press conference held in front of a very large map of Britain (turned upside down), Tramp described the island as “tremendous, really tremendous—possibly the best island I’ve ever seen that I didn’t know existed until five minutes ago.”
The proposed development, to be named the Flair Pools Resort—an anagram Tramp proudly claimed he “personally invented”—would feature an 18-hole championship golf course looping several times around the same fairway, gold-plated bunkers, and a clubhouse shaped unmistakably like a small fortress.
According to leaked plans, the military side of the project would include:
Locals were reportedly confused when Tramp insisted the island was “strategically vital” and could be used to “protect Britain from submarines, wind farms, and possibly France.”
When asked how he planned to secure the island, Tramp replied, “We’re not taking it over, we’re just… improving it. People love improvement. The island will thank me.”
By mid-afternoon, the story unravelled after someone noticed the official proposal document was dated 1 April, signed in gold Sharpie, and watermarked repeatedly with the words “YOU’VE BEEN FOOLED.”
Carol Johnson, a spokesperson for Overwater Marina confirmed there are currently no plans for a golf-military hybrid resort, adding, “We did enjoy the name though.”
Tramp has yet to comment further, but sources say he’s already scouting other “very underrated” UK locations—including the Isle of Wight, a roundabout in Milton Keynes, and “that lake next to the M25.”
