Fish&Chips Quiz night for MNDA success

Over 100 Audlem locals enjoyed another entertaining quiz night in the public hall last Saturday night, raising over £1141.15 for the local branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association in the process. This will be given to MND through Terry Aston of our community.

Huge thank you to all who attended and enjoyed the chance of a quiz and the support of a very worthy cause.

One team even drafted in representatives from Portugal and The Netherlands! (Pity he had never heard of Parrano cheese!).

Sadly, I wasn't able to join but Yorkie Dave did a great job of hosting the evening. Big thanks go to Paul and his team from The Village Chippy for producing all the delicious, freshly cooked fish and chip suppers in a tight timescale. Thanks also to Ben for running the bar and Adriana for pulling it all together. And of course Judy at Williams – local ticket kiosk!

Terry Aston told us about his own experience of losing someone dear to this wicked disease, and the support provided by Surecare who also provided the prize for the overall quiz winners (see picture). We hope that our collective donation will help take the MND association further in their sterling work.

More big thanks to all our local sponsors who yet again provided us with some fantastic prizes including: The Shroppie Fly, The Priest House, The Tea Shop at no 11, Boots, the Co-op, Mevo Sports and many individual residents. We are also grateful to all those who helped on the night with welcoming quizzers at the door, transporting the suppers and generally lending a hand where needed.

Look out for a repeat in the Autumn when we will be looking for another worthy cause to support.
