After years of pressure, there is excellent news to announce about training for Audlem's Community First Responder (CFR) team.
Darren Hurrel, chief executive of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), has written to local camapigner Mike Hill, to say:
"The pilot eCFR programme for the first 15 CFRs will go live on 1st April 2012. Any modifications that arise from the pilot group will be made ready in advance of the remaining 2 cohorts. There is at least one Audlem CFR on each of the three cohorts of training."
Audlem campaigners have been asking for this level of extended training which will allow local First Responders to attend a much wider range of calls than at present.
More on this as soon as we have further details.
