Saturday, January 12th

Our first walk of 2019 is around Bickerton Hill led by Anton Woolford.

It is 10 miles and around 1900ft of climb – likely to be quite muddy, there are also stiles.

The route takes in fields, tracks, paths and roads around Bickerton Hill and returns via the Sandstone Trail.

Meet in Audlem Car Park at 9 am. Anton will meet you at the walk start point, but Jean will be there in the car park to hand over first aid kit and meet any new members.

Driving directions to start of walk: Top of Coppermine Lane SJ 511 551, nearest post code SY14 8BY

From the A49 and Nantwich, take the A534 to Broxton Roundabout/Wrexham

The Bickerton Poacher is on your left, and soon afterwards, turn right up Coppermine Lane, to the top. There is parking on the road at the end.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of ARS are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
