Today, Saturday 27th September, there's a car wash service at Audlem Fire Station from 9.00am till 1.00pm. All money raised will be split between the Firefighters' Charity and the Audlem Fire Cadet Unit for their Ghana project.

Dave Roberts says: "We look forward to seeing you and thank you in advance for your support."

Regular readers may recall that Isobel Sykes Cadet Leader, Matthew Turner and Naomi Brown, Audlem Fire Cadets have been chosen to go to Ghana, to represent Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS).

Mat and Naomi will be part of a team of 16 cadets supporting vital charity work and working closely with Ghana Outlook.

In 2005 and 2007 CFRS cadets helped to build two new schools in the rural areas of the Volta region of Ghana in West Africa and are now providing education to hundreds of children in and around the surrounding areas.

Now it is Naomi and Mat's turn, supported by Isobel, to work alongside other cadets and help build a new school in Adeklu Helepke.

The task is huge and Naomi, Mat and Audlem cadets have got to fund raise a huge amount of money – £7,000 by July 2009. The car wash is part of that fund raising effort.

Isobel says: "This is a truly inspirational project, developing these two cadets both personally and socially and promoting self discipline, teamwork and citizenship, while giving hundreds of children a chance of education, improving a community and reducing deprivation and poverty."
