'Replace with attractive finger signposts' is the clear early favourite option in Audlem Online's latest Vote Poll where readers are asked "What should be done about the signs in the Square?"

Many villagers have commented on the number of signs cluttering the centre of the village – there's often up to eighteen at any one time. Even worse, the signs almost totally obscure the monument to Audlem's celebrated cock-fighter, Doctor Richard Baker Bellyse (1738-1828). Should something be done, and if so what?

Four options are offered in the poll:

  • Destroy them, 'we' know where to go! So far 21%* favour this approach.
  • Keep the main town direction signs. Supported by 25% so far.
  • Replace with attractive 'finger' signposts. The front runner with 44% of votes.
  • We need Welsh language signs as well. Bringing up the rear in voting but attracting a very worthy 10% of voters.
*The % scores may have changed since this story was written as new votes are cast.

If you haven't vote so far, you can do so by clicking on the question on the Homepage. You will see a dropdown with the four options. Choose your favoured option and vote.
