Our next Audlem History Society meeting on Thursday 20th November will be somewhat different, less of a talk and more of a film show.
My son Matthew and I have over the last six months been editing a whole host of 16mm films taken by the late Bob Bonell.
The films illustrate many aspects of local life in the 1950 s and early 1960 s. There are clips of Audlem and district although much of the film focuses on Buerton and particularly Buerton Methodist Chapel at Chapel End where Bob attended. He filmed many of the Sunday Anniversaries and Sunday School trips to Rhyl.
There is also much footage of farming at the time.
If you, your parents or grandparents were around at this time, you could well feature. Even if you have only lived in the area for the last few years, I m sure you will find glimpsing at Audlem s past interesting.
So get yourselves down to the Scout Hall nice and early to secure your seat in the 1/9d s. (Actually its £4 for non-members)
Hope to see you all there.
Regards. Ian Jones
