Don't forget that the film The Age of Stupid is being shown tonight, Wednesday 30th September, at 7.00pm (screening 7.20pm) in Hankelow Methodist Chapel.

The Chapel is really easy to find at the top end (Nantwich side) of Hankelow village green with easy car parking too.

If you have not eaten beforehand, there is an Indian Restaurant (Sylhet Lodge) on the other side of the green (an easy stroll of 2 minutes) – it used to be our pub – where discussion about the film and next steps might take place afterwards. Sylhet Lodge also offers a take-away service.

The Audlem Transition Group* are also planning showing The Age of Stupid at Audlem on the 24th October to be accompanied by an exhibition/ display on initiatives that will make a difference to us and our communities..

The Age of Stupid was first released earlier this year by Franny Armstrong, director of 'McLibel' and founder of the 10:10 movement, and John Battsek, producer of 'One Day in September'.

It's a drama-documentary-animation film which stars Pete Postlethwaite as the last person alive in the devastated world of 2055, watching archive footage from 2008 and asking: "Why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?"

Production of the film was funded by 220 people who donated between £500 and £35,000 and who will receive a pro-rata share in any profits, alongside the 105 crew who worked for survival wages.

On 21st September, The Age of Stupid had the world's largest premier spanning 6 continents, more than 60 countries and uniting nearly 1 million people worldwide for climate change reform.
