Audlem FC had as our opponents yesterday the Bank Corner team from Alsager. They are 4th in the league so yet another strong team.

It was good weather but with a low bright sun to hinder vision. First half and we were leading 3:1. Great stuff. New signings of Edward Holmes in goal – giving us two goalies – plus Tim Seville (son of Bill), Shaun Cunningham and Gaz Jones  gave us a new drive.

Good play and commitment meant we came in at half time 3:3. No injuries of note then. Second half and they were 4:3 up. Good energy and some good goalkeeping. But in the event we lost 6:3.

Good refereeing by Derek Scott of Sandbach. Subs Kev Walters, James Langley and Dean Butters came on to bolster us after some slight worries over hamstring and calf muscles.

Geoff Stretch, our manager was pleased at the drive and commitment shown as we grow into a good team – with strength in depth.

Next match is home again, against Sandbach. Do come and support us.

We are drawn in the Crewe FA vase cup competition against Acton Star. Unfortunately, because of the Bonfire night on the 3rd November, we cannot play as required on our pitch and have been forced to play away. There will be a big cost to us on this and I hope I may get help here.

Chairman
