Superfast fibre broadband has arrived in Audlem and was welcomed yesterday, see photo, by Heather Jones of Audlem Parish Council and Rachel Bailey of Cheshire East Council.

The Connecting Cheshire Partnership has announced that its new fibre-optic network is now becoming available in Audlem as part of its roll-out to homes and businesses across Cheshire.

Around 700 premises locally are now able to upgrade served by the two new roadside cabinets situated near Green Lane and Broadways. Three further cabinets will become live in the early new year.

It's not just about a faster internet experience or doing one thing quicker, it's about everyone being able to do their own thing online, all at the same time.

You can work or play – smarter, faster, better – whether from your smartphone, tablet or computer.

Check the Connecting Cheshire website to see if your home or business can be upgraded and then contact your Internet Service Provider or shop around for the best deal and order a fibre broadband service – it doesn't happen automatically and you could make a saving compared with your current broadband contract!

There is also a video available that explains the upgrading process and one that explains the benefits of fibre broadband. (Search You Tube for the Connecting Cheshire channel).

Connecting Cheshire, a partnership between BT and Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington Councils, aims to reach an additional 80,000 homes and businesses with fibre broadband.

There is a public drop-in event on 17th February in the Public Hall between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Residents are encouraged to attend if they wish to find out more about SFBB.
