I write to give you an update on our progress. We have now been working since last August in planning what will be the biggest ever Festival we have staged in the village.
On Wednesday night the team – a very dedicated and active band of totally unpaid men and women – met to pursue all aspects. This ranged from the raising of circa £10,000 to pay for it all – this is, I think, the biggest free event in Cheshire, lasting as it does over the six days – to the plans for the performers and the arts.
We will have around 83 different performances - plus Art displays in many forms!
The whole event will be launched on 31st May with a brand new facet in the arts. Emma Purshouse – a very well loved poet – will host a Poetry Slam at The Bridge Inn, when around 15 or so poets will perform their works as a sort of Edinburgh Fringe, taking just 15 minutes to deliver their creation.
We will shortly be announcing a competition to determine the judges for this wonderful jewel in the crown of the Audlem Festival. We feel sure it will be a superb winner.
More details as we get closer to the big Jubilee Weekend. You can click on the poster to enlarge it.
