2022 transport festival

Each year David Basford writes a poem about the Audlem Festival of Transport and below is his latest poem following last Sunday's festival.

Audlem Festival of transport 2022

If I could only do one show,
To Audlem Festival I'd go
Where enthusiasts from near and far
Have an opportunity to show their car
The recreation ground at the Public Hall
Was host to vehicles, big and small
Huge American muscle cars
And Tiny little Bubble cars
The vehicles there were really fine
A superb Jaguar Mark nine
A Moss kit car, an M G B
And Steve Elnors' model T
Rob Poole brought his Allis Chalmers
They were saviours of the post war farmers
An A C Cobra, with it's throaty roar
And "modern classics by the score
An American fighter gave a display
And an Avro Anson from, D Day
So, the twenty third Festival has gone
The rain clouds cleared and the sun shone
And so to A S E T we must say
Thanks a million for a super day

David Basford
