Fantastic Weekend at Overwater Marina

3 events were hosted at the marina (by the courtesy of Janet & Angus Maughan).

On Friday the event was a Charity Quiz night, rasing substantial funds for the WheelyBus and the RNLI. (Full details of the funds raised will be published later).

The evening started with a Hog Roast – pulled pork in a bap with stuffing and apple sauce – crackling available. Dave and Carol ran the quiz and auction of promises, Jeff and Olive an extensive raffle – too many other helpers to name!

Saturday evening Elvis arrived by narrow boat – just after that evening's culinary delight – burgers or hot dogs. Elvis (Paul Larcombe) was outstanding delivering a host of Elvis songs over nearly 2 hours! (Editor didn't know Elvis had recorded "Only Cleaning Windows" or "Sweet Caroline"!). He also distributebd many silk scarves over a memorable evening. And lets not forget the Fridge Magnets – made to work on 12v fridges too – so suitable for narrow boats! Ingenious.

The final Comedy evening started with a full cheese board! Some very good comedians, plenty of audience involvement and certainly a lot of jokes – any the editor can remember cannot be published here.

Friday night was about charity – Saturday and Sunday were in aid of the Audlem Music Festival – as is the Audlem Music Festival Monthly Lottery. Click Here
