There's a book signing on Saturday 26 May of an important new book about the Falklands War, at Audlem Mill.

This is a day after the day 30 years ago that the Atlantic Conveyor was hit by an Exocet missile, and the day before HMS Coventry sank.

"They Couldn't Have Done It Without Us" covers the part played by the Merchant Navy in the conflict – revealing something of the experiences of the merchant seaman and women who made possible the retaking of the Falkland Islands.

Merchant Navy ships played a critical part in the Falklands War, by getting the service personnel and supplies to the Falklands.

The book's author, John Johnson-Allen, a former merchant navy officer, and now maritime historian, will be signing copies of his book at Audlem Mill this Saturday 26th May from 11.00am to 3.30pm.

Please ring 811059 to reserve a copy.
