Errors and corrections

In common with, I suspect, many of your readers, I have long enjoyed the regular Audlem FC match reports which generally combine a passion for the village team with a depth of sporting knowledge, erudition, humour and even a sense of wonder at the natural world.

However I am constrained to point out an inaccuracy in this season's final report. The pitch where the match took place was not that of "Sir Thomas Moore" (sic) but belonging to St Thomas More Catholic High School. A minor point perhaps but important to those who take a pride in the fact that our local High School is named after England's leading sainted layman.

Ed – thank you, Anthony, and apologies to the High School. We suspect that Audlem's answer to "Motty" has got confused between St Thomas More and that other English candidate for long-overdue canonisation, Bobby Moore.
