It can hardly have escaped anyone's notice that there is going to be a General Election on December 12th.

AudlemOnline can confirm that Audlem is still part of the Eddisbury Constituency in spite of some suggestion that we might be rejoining Crewe & Nantwich Constituency.

The polling station for Audlem will be the Public Hall as usual, but polling will take place in the Small Hall in the Public Hall Annexe.

Nominations for candidates standing for Eddisbury will be completed by the end of next week, but meanwhile we are informed that two nominations have been made -

Antoinette Sandbach

who had been our Conservative MP has been deselected and is now a candidate for the Liberal Democrats.
She says that she is looking forward to standing for election as the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Eddisbury and the opportunity to build upon her strong track record of securing investment and delivering for our local community.

Edward Timpson

was selected on Thursday evening as the Conservative candidate.
Cllr Rachel Bailey said "Thank you Audlem Ward residents who attended the Eddisbury Constituency Conservative Hustings last night. We heard three excellent presentations from the three outstanding candidates, I am delighted to say Edward Timpson was selected as the Conservative Parlimentary Candidate and look forward to welcoming him to our village very soon."

We will publish details of further nominations when they become available, and we hope to publish fuller statements from all the candidates after nominations close.
