Plans to develop 112 houses in and around the Doddington Estate have been refused.

Cheshire East's strategic planning board voted by seven to four to turn down the application at the meeting at Crewe Municipal Buildings on last Thursday. This follows refusal of an earlier application in October last year.

Speaking at the meeting, Paul Moore, chair of Doddington and District Parish Council, said:

"The parishes that the application falls in, currently consists of around 150 households. This application represents a 73% increase. Our parish would be completely altered by this development."

Whilst presenting their intention to submit this application at the January meeting of the Doddington & District Parish Council, the Estate's agent made it clear that a rejection of the application would result in an appeal to the Secretary of State.
