We reported in October last year that the planning application to build 102 houses on land belonging to the Doddington Estate had been refused.

At the January meeting of the Doddington & District Parish Council, the agent acting on behalf of the Doddington Estate presented their proposals to submit a new application which will address the reasons for its predecessor's rejection.

Concerns about the refused application included "harm that would be caused by the proposed residential development in the open countryside and by the lack of social/community benefits to be provided by the development" as well as a lack or provision for affordable housing.

The estate's agent made it clear a the meeting that a rejection of the new application would result in their submitting an appeal to the Secretary of State.

The new application is expected to be submitted within the next month.
