We recently launched a series of adult workshops at the Dorothy Clive Garden which have been received extremely well and are now in full swing.

The success of 'The Great British Bake Off' has created a nation of enthusiastic bakers, so it is no surprise that all that three of our French Bread baking courses have been a sell-out. Philippe Le Toquin, local French baker from Longslow Bakery in Market Drayton, is due to run his third bread baking workshop at the end of April, however, due to popular demand, he will be returning to deliver a masterclass in French pastries in November. Watch this space.

Another great success has been our "free- flow machine embroidery" course held in April. Jo Hill – an experienced embroiderer and regular exhibitor at Gallery 12 in Eccleshall – taught our sewing enthusiasts how to machine embroider flowers to create cushion covers. Jo will be back in the Autumn to deliver another course, so please keep a look out on our 'What's On' page on the website: www.dorothyclivegarden.co.uk.

Those of you who are regular visitors to the Dorothy Clive Garden will have tasted the delicious cakes made by our resident cooks Annie and Karen. In November, we will be running a new Afternoon Tea Course which will include how to make the famous Dorothy Clive Garden scones, brownies and other fancy cakes. We will also be hosting a Christmas Cake Decorating course and Christmas Party Food workshop all run by our in-house cooks. Details are on the website.

Upcoming is a full and varied Arts based workshop programme including a regular expert, Malcolm Hague, with his Pottery workshop on Saturday 10th June. We also have workshops in Felt Making, Jewellery Making, Botanical Illustration, Photogrpahy and much more – for more details click here.
