This coming Saturday's (7th January) ARS walk is around Delamere and is organised by Tony Crowther.

Tony says: "The walk is circular and over a distance of just over 8 miles, an undulating stroll with no steep climbs but one sharp descent.

Starting from the Delamere Forest Visitor Centre with WC’s and a cafe (car park charge £6 all day) we will go along a forest trail until we pick up the Sandstone Trail for approximately 3 miles heading south through Nettleford Wood crossing the busy A54 and on to Primrose Hill Wood.

Round Willington corner and we come to the pretty village of Utkinton, passing a cafe along the way.

A farm shop on John Street can be visited before turning North to head back via Quarry Bank through the woods to Harrow Hill, crossing open farmland to recross the A54 and climb slowly over Eddisbury Hill to Pale Heights.

We return to the car park through Delamere forest trails or a direct clean lane. It's all on Landranger Map117.

In summary this walk has beech woods, open farmland, forest trails, old cart tracks lanes and a pretty village, plus plenty of wildlife.

Please bring the normal waterproofs, boots lunch etc (food can be bought at 3 places).

Be there on Audlem car park for a 9.00am departure.
