The very caring team that head up ADCA – (Audlem & District Community Action) run the Tuesday Day Club and the Friday Coffee Morning every week for the more advanced in years members of our community, many of whom have some restriction of movement and can easily become socially isolated.
The team is headed by Tracey Humphries, Lynn and Neil Morear along with many volunteers who give freely of their time in both chauffeuring folks to and from the New Annexe and the Lord Combermere, plus helping in both venues in serving the members.
Last Tuesday, the Chef, Helen Dovey (pictured), presented a very special luncheon. It was classified as French Day and she prepared a taxing meal for her in the magnificent kitchens of the Town Hall. She cooked a fine Coq Au Vin, along with dauphinoise potatoes, Chantenay carrots and petits pois. Followed by a special dessert of Clafoutis – a creamy batter with peaches, served with crème fraiche. A true tour de force, assisted in this by Rose Consterdine, Helen Dunlop and Shirley Firth. I am please to say all who dined on this resplendent menu du jour were delighted and some even had deuxiemes!
Another example of just what a great community spirit we have here in AudlemI
