Representatives of Defra, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, are visiting Audlem to present village representatives with an especially commissioned plaque to recognise Audlem's success in winning the Defra national 'Building Community Life' award. Audlem also won the Cheshire and North of England Defra awards and when judged against the winning villages in each of England's 49 counties, we went on to scoop the national prize and £2,000. Defra have since issued a booklet on the awards which feature all the winning county villages with Audlem taking pride of place.

The presentation of the plaque to Richard Furber, chairman of Audlem Parish Council, takes place at 12.30pm in the Public Hall.
