Members of ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) and other local residents covering a wide age range attended a Heartstart course on Sunday.
As well as being very informative, it gave excellent practical advice and practice on what to do in a number of emergencies – heart attack, cardiac arrest, choking and heavy bleeding – and was also very enjoyable.
This was, in large part, due to the quality of the course run entirely by Audlem First Responders on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
The information included the map to the right which shows the AED (defibrillator) locations in the area – please click on it to enlarge.
In summary there are AED's in these locations In Audlem:

The key message from Heartstart is that having all the above defibrillators is a big step forward – until a few years ago they were few and far between.
But, and this is a big but, unless people have had some life savings skills training and understand the "chain of survival", knowing the AED's location alone is not the solution!
