Anticipation in the huge audience was high as the bonfire burned: this is to be a high tech evening of music and fireworks.

From the first awakening explosion, set off by Edward Thompson, that lit the evening sky, the focus of all was on the night's backdrop.

The sky danced to the music as hundreds (683 to be factual) of single shot comets, straight firing cakes, fan cakes and z cakes, mines, candles and aerial shells painted their magic to the 'oohs' and the 'ahhhs' of all around.

A dazzling display to which the music played its part and the choreography weaved its way through the display.

The true magic of the fireworks though is in the way it draws people together to witness this event year on year.  Yes, the firework display is a match for many larger events and this is the key to evening.

#Families and Friends
Families and friends use this occasion to get together. The talk leading up to the event is one of preparation for bonfire meals and get togethers from near and far.

The village becomes aglow on a cold autumnal evening as everyone descends on the local hostelries to celebrate the occasion

It's not so much talk of Guy Fawkes and the 1605 Gunpowder plot against King James or how life today would have been different had the plot succeeded, more about catching up with family and friends, and enjoying the company.

#Fire-by-Wire
Beijing did well in choosing the world renowned 'fire-by-wire' firing system manufactured here in the UK and the Funktion One sound system is truly a great sound system, but these technicalities are lost in the delivery of a fascinating light show of whizzes and bangs that never fails to capture the senses of those that witness these events.

A true mix of traditional and state of the art, and one that delivers more than just a show, another great event from the ASET team.
