Cuckoo heard

I was delighted to hear the cuckoo yesterday morning as I was walking along the canal towpath near Kynsal Farm, Cox Bank.

(Audlem Online says: Cuckoos have been rarely heard in recent years in Audlem and appear to be in steeply declining numbers in England. Ten days ago, several Audlem residents were driving south and wondered how far they had to go before they heard one – they reached the Loire Valley in France, where cuckoos seem to be everywhere!)
