Audlem .v. Runcorn

Audlem welcomed visitors from Runcorn to the Gorse Croft on Sunday with the game starting at 12:00pm to accommodate the football supporters within the gathering and enable the contest to be completed in good time for the start of the Euro Final in the evening.

Runcorn won the toss and decided to bat but found it hard going against Audlem's accurate bowling attack, No-one could make any headway with the highest scorers being Liam Ratcliffe with 23 and James Cookson with 24. The wickets were shared amongst Audlem's array of bowlers with Andy Burton taking 2 , Sadj Ali ( 1), Dave Parkinson (1), George Walker (2), Usman Ghani (1) & young Ben Duncalfe again the stand out performer with fine figures of 5..1 overs 2 for 15. Runcorn were bowled out for a well below par total of 111 in the 34th over.

Once the prolific Matthew Kenvyn ( 50 retired not out ) was into his stride the result was never in doubt , a fine opening partnership with Matthew Furber (12) set up the victory with Dave Parkinson (26 not out) and Usman Ghani (13 not out) bringing the proceedings to a close with a comprehensive victory in the 19th over by the margin of 6 wickets.
