On Saturday Audlem made their way to Sandyford where the home team prevailed in a tight game. Ben Turnock ( 46 ) & Phillip Robbins ( 20 ) were the mainstays of Sandyford's 135 -- 9 from their allocation.
Vijayan Rahul & Jack Allman helped themselves to 5 -- 20 & 3 -- 33 respectively for Audlem. Tom Measures ( 37 ) & Irfan Shaik ( 20 ) gave Audlem hope of knocking off their target but from 56 -- 2, they tumbled to 107 all out to end their ambitions.
Next Saturday Audlem are at home to Moddershall & Oulton and on Monday they make the short journey to Whitmore with both games scheduled for a 1.00pm start.
The Sunday team welcomed Hodnet & Peplow to the Gorse Croft and managed to come out on top in a high scoring encounter. After posting 221 for 3 they managed to restrict the visitors to 191 for 8 off their 40 overs. Michael Burton ( 50 retired not out ) & Andy Jackson ( 49 ) were the main contributors with valuable runs coming from Bertie Hardy, Steve Ellsmore. Marcus Taylor & Jake Topping.
Hodnet & Peplow made a fine attempt at chasing down the total and just pulled up short at the end of play with the main contributions coming from Kevin George ( 50 retired not out ) ,Geoff Smith & C. Freeman. Audlem's wicket takers' were Dave Parkinson, Bertie Hardy, Freddie Fernyhough and Richard Irvine but a special mention must go to 12 year old Annabelle Burton making her debut for the Sunday team with a fine spell of seam bowling and claiming her first victim in senior cricket. She finished with excellent figures of 5 overs 10 runs conceded for 1 wicket.
Next Sunday Audlem make their way to Burton CC ( Chester )
