Audlem's cricketers were again in top form as they recorded back-to-back home victories over Checkley on Saturday and against Poppyfields from The West Midlands the following day.

Sunday XI vs Poppyfields

Sunday's game was a close contest until the latter stages of the game when Dave Parkinson ( 35 not out ) and Usman Ghani ( 53 not out ) took charge of the game to guide their team home with 3 overs to spare.

Earlier in the day Poppyfields had struggled for runs against Audlem's array of bowlers and with the score on 67 for 5 in the 22 over things looked grim for the visitors but a fine recovery from the lower order, especially a 10th wicket partnership between Mick Greensill and Mossley of 52 managed to put a decent total of 176 for 9 on the board. Wickets were shared between Dave Parkinson, Connor Howard, Andy Burton, Usman Ghani , Fasil and Martin Malloy.

This looked a par total with the host's batsmen struggling for runs in the reply with only Michael Burton ( 33 ) & skipper Ollie Banfield ( 18 ) looking confident until Usman and Dave managed to take control and steer their team to victory.

Saturday XI vs Checkley

The previous day Audlem produced a superb performance to comfortably see off Checkley. The Hosts showed off their batting prowess first of all as they put 281 for 7 on the board off their allocation of overs.

Richard Wilson fronted that run spree with an excellent 138 which came off just 99 balls and contained 25 fours and 3 sixes. Dave Parkinson ( 40 ) and Andy Rothwell ( 25 ) also played their part, while Wayne Stones took two wickets.
I
n reply Jack Farrington top scored with 47 but Checkley were bowled out for 108 as Abhijith Jayan and Neil Humphries scooped 3 for 18 and 3 for 20 respectively with the ball.
