Audlem Cricket Club held its Annual General Meeting at the Shroppie Fly on Wednesday 22nd November. Members heard the Treasurer, Ian Jones, explain that the Club's financial position is precarious, caused mainly by the need to spend over £4,000 buying two mowers during the year – one for the outfield and one for the square.

On a more positive note, Simon Banks and Steve Farnell, who started playing cricket at Audlem as juniors, explained how they would be setting up a junior section for 2007 so that youngsters could learn how to play cricket at Audlem – just as they had. Further information will be given about junior coaching as the details are finalised.

The officials for next season are:

Chairman: Andy Capper

Vice Chairman: Chris Shenton

Treasurer: Ian Jones

Secretary: Tom Measures

Andy Capper and John Wainwright were appointed as captains of the 1st and 2nd teams which play league cricket on a Saturday and Dave Parry was appointed captain of the Sunday team, which plays friendly games.

As always, the Club is looking for new members. In addition to playing membership, non-players can support the Club by joining as social members at a cost of £10.

Alternatively, the Club is seeking sponsorship for next season. Individual match balls can be sponsored for £15. The sponsor's name will be clearly shown at the ground on the day of the match and mentioned in the match report on Audlem Online.
