A contributor to Audlem Online yesterday asked for more good news on the website, in particular on the Chatbox where a degree of negativity had been spotted recently.
The good news is that we can report some good news in the form of excellent service in the village from United Utilities only yesterday.
After a number of residents to the west of the village found problems with their drains, a call was put into United Utilities yesterday morning at 9.30am.
The caller was told by the very pleasant person at UU who answered the phone immediately – without, incidentally, a single note from Vivaldi's Four Seasons or similar 'hold' music – that a team would be out to attend to the problem within four hours.
Amazingly, that team turned up just two hours later, fully investigated the problem, and then spent a number of hours of somewhat messy work, clearing the blockage. All now seems to be well.
We have criticised United Utilities in the past on this website, so it is nice to report a very good news story – just as our Chatbox contributor wanted.
