Our Bagley Lane correspondent reports: "Have just been to the lake side at Coxbank and it's a slightly better situation than before.

"The Council gulley sucker is back on site trying to keep pace with the encroaching water. Some of the pot holes have now been fixed – I hope a temporary fix, as once the root of the problem is sorted, a fresh road surface is probably required.

"It appears that some of the water is very slowly seeping away down the council drain but water is entering the system far faster than it can drain away. Until the manhole can be completely emptied of water there is no chance for the council guys to forward jet any outlet pipes as they are not visible through all the muddy water.

"The Council were just about to empty a second load of water as I left."
