The Cox Striders for Macmillan

The original plan was for our team, The Cox Striders, to walk the Northumberland Coast Hike and the Peak District Hike 26 miles each as part of the Macmillan Mighty Hikes annual fundraising event. Unfortunately this event has now been postponed by Macmillan until next year due to Covid and the social distancing restrictions.

Undeterred, we will still walk the 26 mile hike which we've been training hard for as we feel Macmillan need the funds this year more than ever, so have planned a route around the local area instead encompassing Audlem, Cox Bank, Adderley, Buerton, Hatherton, Nantwich and Coole Pilate.

Saturday, 3rd October

The walk will take place on Saturday, 3rd October, starting at 8.30 a.m. and finishing an estimated 9 hours later in the centre of the village at The Lord Combermere public house and we welcome support from socially-distanced spectators both at the start / finish and also any energetic souls who'd like to keep us company on small sections of the route (sensible shoes will be necessary) – refreshments would also be welcome! (a route map will be posted on my facebook page nearer the time)
