County cricket on Sunday at the Gorse Croft

On Sunday Audlem Cricket Club has been given the honour of hosting an English Cricket Board County Championship Girls’ Under-13 match.

The Gorse Croft ground, which is one of the most picturesque grounds in Cheshire, is the venue for the County match between Cheshire and Shropshire.  Both teams are in the U13 North Performance League along with teams representing Lancashire and Yorkshire.

The match will be tough for Cheshire as their record this season shows two defeats. They have already lost to both Shropshire and Yorkshire by six wickets.  The match comprises 35 overs for each team.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast is not good for tomorrow, but spectators are welcome to attend the match, which starts at 1.00 pm.  Let’s hope that this won’t be the last time that Audlem hosts a prestigious county match.
