Coriolis Conspiracy?

Chris Greaves has spotted another whirlpool/hole in the canal by bridge 74 towards Adderley.

He has kindly provided the photo, and states that it has been reported.

So, has Coriolis decided to demonstrate its power? Or it is just the result of canal and culvert fatigue over a couple of hundred years?

And is it going the "right" way in any case?

And does anyone actually care?
