Coole Lane closure

A reminder that Coole Lane will be closed for at least a couple of days this week – tomorrow and Wednesday if all goes to plan.

This, apart from the temporary disruption, is good news for regular users of Coole Lane, currently only to be recommended as a route for those with tracked or all-terrain vehicles, although sturdy 4x4s were getting through on good days.

We exaggerate, of course, about the current state of the road surface – but only slightly!

As a result of the welcome repairs, there will be a temporary closure of the C508, that's Coole Lane, for through traffic from its junction with French Lane (the lane that leads to Broomhall and Sound) to its junction with Hollingreen Lane (the lane to Hack Green).

The alternative route during the closure will be via the A525 and A530 – that's the Whitchurch – Nantwich Road or, of course, the A529 Audlem – Nantwich road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents.

The closure is necessary to enable Cheshire East Council to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 08.00 hours until 17.00 hours on Tuesday 18th May and Wednesday 19th May 2010.

The road closure notice will become operative on Tuesday 18th May 2010 for a period of 5 days or for such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed.
